Zero-layer means that all key functionality and information will be shown on a single level, making it easier to select a functions without having engage a submenu. Key to the update is what BMW is calling the zero-layer concept. But the real question is what models will get this new update? The focus on the update is a refreshed home screen and a revised UI that should work better with BMW’s new curved display now available on most models. BMW is introducing two new versions of iDrive – iDrive 8.5 and iDrive 9.0 later this year.
